APPRAISAL FEES

Appraisal fees should be fair and reasonable and should correspond to the type and amount of services rendered, the experience and education level of the appraiser, and the liability to which the appraiser feels exposed by virtue of undertaking the assignment.

HOURLY RATE:

Spalding Nix charges an hourly rate of $125 for services rendered.  Estimates are based on the amount of time that Mr. Nix believes it will take to examine, evaluate and research the property, and to prepare the Appraisal Report.  Mr. Nix will provide the client with all the explanations necessary to the proposed fees as well as the terms and conditions of payment including disbursement schedules, anticipated billing expenses, and amounts necessary to pay for third party services.  Mr. Nix’s appraisal fee is in no way related to the value of the item(s) being appraised.

APPRAISAL REPORTS:

A completed Appraisal Report will include detailed property descriptions & itemized values in a bound document.

All Appraisal Reports for INSURANCE COVERAGE purposes

require a three (3) hour minimum charge of $375.

All Appraisal Reports for NONCASH CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS

 require a five (5) hour minimum charge of $625.

Appraisal fees paid by the donor for noncash charitable contributions are not deductible as contributions; however, they can be claimed, subject to a 2%-of-adjusted-gross-income limit, as a miscellaneous itemized deduction on Schedule A (Form 1040).

ON-SITE APPRAISALS:

For an on-site evaluation, Mr. Nix charges an hourly rate of $62.50 for travel time to and from the on-site location.  There is no charge for on-site locations within Atlanta's I-285 perimeter.  Travel time is based on Google’s driving directions to and from Mr. Nix’s office.

DEPOSIT:

All appraisals require a fifty percent deposit due at time of the approved quote with the balance due upon the client's receipt of the Appraisal Report document.
