"It's necessary to move forward," says David Easton.  "I see a desire to simplify life & for less complicated interiors.”   With over 30 years in the international spotlight of architecture & interior design, Easton is uniquely qualified to make such a prediction.  Easton's presentation will share highlights from & insights into his past & present design projects, & will discuss what he believes the future holds for residential architecture & design.

Easton made his name primarily as a neo-classicist.  After receiving his architecture degree from Pratt Institute in 1963, Easton worked with design icons Edward Wormley & Parish-Hadley.  In 1972, he founded his own firm, & quickly gained recognition for his classically inspired, traditional designs.  In the 1980s, his English-style interiors became emblems of the age.  Today, Mr. Easton is more likely to be designing a scaled-down, fresh & modern environment than he is the grander, more layered rooms of his earlier years.  Looking forward once more, Easton says, “I think the future will be about a more intelligent use of resources & a more intelligent support of lifestyles."

In addition to his residential work, David Easton has designed collections for Henredon Furniture Inc., Lee Jofa, Walters Wicker, Beauvais Carpets, Cole & Son Ltd. (wallpaper), & Robert Abbey Inc. (lighting) – many of which are represented at ADAC.   Among his many honors, Easton was named to the Interior Design Hall of Fame in 1992, has twice been presented with Classical America's Arthur Ross Award, &, most recently, was honored by his peers with the "Lifetime Achievement" award at London's Design & Decoration Awards.  In January 2010, Easton was named in Architectural Digest's AD 100 for the ninth time.
